Boat onthe River

Another one from the boat series. This one is quite a favorite, the colour play being really soft. The light on the water is one of day while that which embraces the bank, depicts night.

This one is pretty famous. This particular photo has been used many times for write ups on my Boat Series exhibition held in Hyderbad,or my recent works.

Lantern and Boat by Night

This was done on paper with a metallic. The base colour had to be acrylic as water colour wouldn't stay. The rest of the techniques are the same.

"Babuier basha" The birds nest

Sized 12 x9 it is a part of the boat series,
although the painting is not directly relevant.
It has been done on acid proof paper,
with water colour and pen.
The real colours have been muted
with the chairoscuro and black overtones
in order to bring about a softness which is
important and consistent throughout the boat series.

Lantern in A Boat

This one is quite a faorite.
The concept of Chairoscuro
being well executed.
The portrayed time is that
of the night to complement the light
and shade well.

Fisherman and The boat

Although named "Fisherman and the Boat"
the painting actually potrays a young boy
on the threshold of manhood.
The yet unformed shoulders carrying
the fishing net portrays a striking image.

I named it
Old Man and The Boat,
Maybe some memories of
The old man and the sea stayed
in my subconcious,
and inspired this work.
